Bob Unruh of WorldNetDaily.com recently wrote about Britain’s ban on the use of “mum and dad.” This is on the heels of the California legislature’s ban on the use of “mom and dad” in public schools. This ban is supposed to be attacking bullying, in particular “anti-gay bullying.”

Teachers are not to speak of moms and dads instead they are to use “parents.” This is a thinly disguised attempt to train children to accept homosexual behavior as normal. This law in Britain was written by the homosexual activist group Stonewall and announced by government Schools Secretary Ed Balls, and it directs teachers to introduce to students as young as age four the idea of same-sex couples in order to battle “homophobic” attitudes.

In California the plan mandates “a positive – and no other – portrayal of bisexuals, homosexuals, transgenders and others choosing alternative sexual lifestyles in public schools.”

The new California law demands, “No teacher shall give instruction nor shall any school district sponsor any activity that promotes a discriminatory bias because of a characteristic [including perceived gender.]”

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed the bill (SB 777) into law banning the terms mom and dad. “The terms ‘mom and dad’ or ‘husband and wife’ could promote discrimination against homosexuals if a same-sex couple is not also featured,” said Meredith Turney, the legislative liaison for Capitol Resource Institute.

Sabrina Lockhart, a spokeswoman for the governor insisted “it simply takes anti-discrimination language used in other areas of [state law] such as employment and puts that in the education code.”

The intention  behind this bill does no such thing. This bill is intended to teach children as young as four that homosexuality is normal and one cannot help being homosexual any more than one can choose his race. It is intended to train our young to believe that a homosexual couple is no different from a married heterosexual couple. It is designed to make any discussion of homosexuality expect in a positive light “hate speech.” This would include teachers, preachers and parents.

In both the Old and New Testaments, God condemns, as sin, homosexuality. Lev 20:13, “If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination.”  Rom 1:26-28, “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting.”

There is no way a Bible believer can ignore the sin involved in homosexuality. All have heard of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. These cities were destroyed by God because of the sin of homosexuality. Jude 7 says “As Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”

The biblical account of this is Gen 19, “now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house. And they called to Lot and said to him, where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally,” (4-5). The NIV translation of these verses is extremely interesting. “Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom--both young and old--surrounded the house. They called to Lot, where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.”

The bible condemns all homosexual behavior, including consensual behavior. Consent never factors in to whether it is sinful. Consider “Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due,” (Rom 1:27). This tells us that these men received the penalty they deserved even though their homosexual acts were mutual. He said these homosexuals “burned in their lust for one another.” This is consensual!

Despite ungodly laws and despite public school curriculum (and it won’t be long before California’s ungodliness reaches the heartland) parents, preachers, elders and all Christians must call homosexuality what it is – a perversion and abomination.

“If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination,” (Lev 20:13). The word “abomination” translates the Hebrew word tow'ebah meaning: “something disgusting” or “abhorrent.” God said homosexuality is disgusting.

God said homosexual behavior resulted, not from orientation, but from “vile passions,” (Rom 1:26). This
